FAMILY MEMBERS SEARCHING FOR INFORMATION ABOUT THEIR LOVED ONES George Crofton MSgt, U. S. Air Force (Retired) Is looking for anyone who knew his brother a door gunner with the 101st SFC James R. Crofton, 101st Airborne, two Vietnam tours. That is about the extent of the information that I can recall. I keep hoping for more info... He died about a year after retiring from the Army. George has a website honoring all vets, teachers, police and fire fighters. This is a fantastic site. Best of luck to you George and thanks for all your help. Bill Rick L Murphy maddog@maddog.net I am Jerry Ray Murphy's nephew. I was too young to know Jerry very well but I do remember him as a hell raiser. Sorry I didn't get to know him later in life. I am looking to contact Mike (Daddy Snake) Schrumpf to get more information on Jerry. Can you help me?

brenda rhoades HELLO, DO YOU OR ANYONE YOU KNOW REMEMBER MY HUSBAND, ROY ALLEN RHOADES. HE SERVED IN NAM IN 66-67 IN CU CHI, AND THEN IN PLEIKU IN 69-70 WITH THE 189TH AND WAS OFTEN ASKED TO FLY AS A DOOR GUNNER. HE THINKS HE HAD A CAPTAIN MANNING AT PLEIKU. ROY WAS A STAFF SERGEANT AT THE TIME. HE HAS BEEN DENIED A CLAIM FOR PTSD WITH THE VA BECAUSE HE CAN'T PROVE SERVICE CONNECTION. WE NEED YOUR HELP HERE IF POSSIBLE. HE WAS ON AN FOB MISSION TO RESCUE SOME TROOPS IN PLEIKU WHO HAD MADE CONTACT WITH THE ENEMY ON THE GROUND. HE WAS A GUNNER AT THAT TIME AND WAS UNDER HEAVY GUNFIRE FROM THE GROUND. HE WAS TRYING TO KEEP THE ENEMY PINNED DOWN AND PULL OUR GUYS UP ON A ROPE TO THE CHOPPER. HE RECEIVED A BRONZE STAR FOR THIS BUT VA WONT ACCEPT IT AS PROOF OF COMBAT. IF ANYONE REMEMBERS THIS EVENT WITH NAMES, SPECIFIC DATES WITHIN 2 MONTHS, PILOTS AND CO PILOTS , AND LOCATION OF WHERE THE MISSION WAS APPROX. WE WOULD LIKE YOUR HELP. IT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. WE HAVE LESS THAN 45 DAYS TO FURNISH THE INFORMATION. THANK YOU SO MUCH AND WE LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING FROM YOU. ROY AND BRENDA RHOADES. P.S. IF YOU KNOW OF ANY OTHER STRESSFUL EVENT WHERE YOU WERE WITH MY HUSBAND THAT WOULD BE USEFUL TOO. BUDDY LETTERS ARE OFTEN ACCEPTED. JUST SAYING YOU WERE WITH HIM IN A BATTLE AND CAN VERIFY IT. THANKS AGAIN.
Hi Bill , we are hoping his citation for the bronze star can serve as proof of
the fob mission that he is using as a stressor. we have also contacted our
congressman in the state we live in which is alma, arkansas. he flew a lot as a
door gunner and was with the 189th assult helicopter. co. thanks brenda
Hi Bill...I
have reviewed your new site. It looks great. What great time and effort you have
put into this. The love and energy on this site is priceless and I also have
this new feeling today that I have new brothers myself . I lost my only brother
Jesse L.
Harris.
Jesse served from Schofield Barracks, Hawaii 1963-65 with the "Shotgun" 1st
Provisional Machine Gun Platoon. Jesse mentioned in his letter dated Nov. 3,
1964 about being 30 miles from Saigon when with the 118th AVNCO. (Ben Hoa).
In January 1965 he was with the 1st Bat. 14th Inf. Jesse then re-inlisted
and on Jan. 1966 was shipped out with the 14th Inf. 25th Inf. Div. He
was KIA in Nov. 1966. (wished he would have stayed with the Shotgun
Div.) I also did not notice Jesse's name on your memorial page. There is also a
change needed to be made for the "traveling wall" . Jesse's date of birth is
incorrect. It should read June 13, 1942 (not 1-13-42) His ID # is 19650582. If
you could forward me a web or phone # to have this changed in the system I would
appreciate it.
Welcome Home.
I just run into your website from the Camp Holloway guestbook and was
wondering if by chance you may have known my Brother?
My Brother
SP5 Frank
Racine
was Crewchief/gunner with the 119 AHC, Camp Holloway in 1965.
Frank was KIA in the Battle of Pleime on Oct 20 of 65
I am looking for anyone who may have been with him and may have pictures of
him and crew.
Thank You.
Terry Racine
Wayne Schiller is my father. He was a door gunner in the 119th Helicopter Assault Company. Did you know him? He was at Camp Holloway from 65 to 67. He has a picture of his commander's monkey. Does this ring a bell? Thanks. Dawn Schiller dschille@eou.edu
