Hi There,

I’m trying to find out about door gunner wings. I was a gunner for the 118th Aviation Co, at Bien Hoa in the summer of 1965. When I left VN there didn’t seem to be any resolution to the question as to what gunner wings would look like if or when any were approved. Were door gunner wings ever approved and if so, what did they look like?
Thanks,

Hi Bill,

I was on Shotgun X, with the 118th AV company at Bien Hoa, June, July and August of '65. I seem to have lost (quite recently) our platoons travel orders. I do have our orders for air medals and a DFC. I had over 700 pictures that were stolen almost as soon as we got back to Schofield Barracks!

"
never approved."
That's what I thought, so why do I keep seeing the winged "G" so often, even copies for sale? I have a story about the "G" you've probably not heard.
